Frenchies And Their Health

Unfortunately, many unethical French Bulldog breeders breed litter after litter of puppies because of the popularity of the breed and because people will pay thousands of dollars for a puppy, any puppy, without knowing anything about the sire or dam's genetic history. Many Frenchies can develop:

  • Paralysis due to Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), spinal disc issues, and Degenerative Myelopathy (DM).

  • Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS). Many French Bulldogs have a high risk of BOAS due to their squashed faces and short snouts.

  • URT Infection

  • Skin Problems - Pyoderma, a bacterial skin infection, and Skin Fold Dermatitis.

  • Conjunctivitis

  • Ear Infections.

  • Diarrhea. They have very sensitive stomachs.

  • Allergies

  • Rashes

  • Eye issues
